Solidarity Sale Saturday 11 September to raise money for the Emmaus communities in Chile devastated by the earthquake in February of this year.  All second-hand goods half price!

What We Sell

The Emmaus Cambridge shop is an Aladdin's cave full of treasures! The following is just a selection of what can be found here:-

  • Books
  • Bric a brac
  • Electrical items, including cookers, fridges, washing machines, televisions and hi-fis
  • Furniture
  • Music (records, cds cassettes) and dvds
  • Soft furnishings including bedding, curtains, towels

All our electrical goods are fully tested on site in our workshop, staffed by Companions and a fully qualified member of staff. Amongst the usual household furniture, bric-a-brac and electrical items nestle the quirky and unusual. We believe items sourced from our shop have been used in the Harry Potter films - it is always worth a visit as you never know what you will find!

We offer a delivery service for a small charge.

Help For People in Receipt of Benefits

We do offer a discount on basic household items for people in receipt of Job Seeker's Allowance or Income Support, or for people with a referral letter from an apprpriate agency.  If you are in a position to take advantage of this, please bring proof of your entitlement with you when you come to the shop.

Gift Vouchers

We now have a range of gift vouchers available.  The vouchers (£1, £5 and £10) are valid on purchases from the Emmaus Cambridge shop for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Thank You!

We would like to say a big 'thank you' to all of our lovely, loyal customers for the way you have been patient with us throughout all of the works and changes we have been undertaking in the Community's shop.  We are aware that moving the books has caused another wave of confusion but can assure you that we do still have them - they have simply moved to other areas in the shop.  In addition to the new book area, we have moved certain books such as cookery books to the kitchen area to make the displays more relevant.

We would also like to re-assure you that there is light at the end of the tunnel as we have now moved nearly all of the show areas to where we would like them to be.  We are pleased with the changes we have made, which we hope will mean that visiting Emmaus Cambridge will be a better experience for you all too!

Finally, thank you to all of you who have made such encouraging comments about the work which has been undertaken so far - we really do appreciate your support.
