Matty

When I was 18 I left school with no qualifications so I decided to go travelling and ended in Hong Kong, visiting my brother. I was introduced to heroin there. When things went a bit pete tong there, I came back to Cambridge, got a job in a hotel and sorted myself. I was in hotel management for 8 years but during that time I got back in to the gear, smoking crack cocaine and doing pills again. Then I moved into a house in Cambridge with a girl but when that went wrong things went really bad for me. In and out of jail, shop lifting taking drugs - this went on for 8 years. I ended up in hospital with a serious lung infection - abscesses, pus, the full works. I was told if I carried on this way I would die so about two years ago I went into rehab in Newcastle. The rehab was horrible - hard core, intense therapy for 6½ months and when I left met a girl, she got pregnant and then she left me. Things went wrong again. I ended up with blood clots in my leg back in hospital and didn’t know what to do. I found out about Emmaus and am still here now! Best place I’ve ever been to to  get myself right.
