Poverty at Christmas Advent Calendar |
Aware that the Christmas season is rapidly approaching, Emmaus Cambridge has decided to publish a type of 'Advent Calendar' for every day the shop is open up to Christmas. The theme of our display is 'Poverty at Christmas' and we hope to illustrate social issues and what Emmaus is doing to try and make a difference. The information can be found on a display in our shop which will build up over the month and we hope that our supporters will find it interesting. Today's information can be found at Poverty at Christmas 24 December (MS/Word, 210KB).

Wintercomfort Appeal |
In the run up to Christmas we are collecting essential items for local homelessness charity Wintercomfort. Many of our guys have come to Emmaus Cambridge via the services of Wintercomfort and we think it would be good to be able to help a little bit. We have placed a collection box in our 'Poverty at Christmas' display area and we would love to be able to give them a full box on Christmas Eve. See our Wintercomfort Appeal List (MS/Word, 70KB) for more information.

Emmaus gets Social Enterprise Mark |
Emmaus Cambridge has been awarded the Social Enterprise Mark, which identifies us as trading for social and environmental purposes. The Social Enterprise Mark is the brand for social enterprises and was launched 1 February 2010. The mark identifies businesses which meet defined criteria for social enterprise, and consumers will recognise that businesses displaying the Mark are trading to benefit people and planet. We have a video with more information about the Mark.
