How To Donate Money
The bulk of Emmaus Cambridge's income comes from our shop, but we are always happy to receive donations of money from supporters. There are various ways of doing this:-
Cash - personal visitors to the shop can make a cash donation.
Cheque - personal cheques should be made payable to Emmaus Cambridge.
Standing order - if you would like to make a regular donation to support the work of Emmaus Cambridge you could set up a standing order. For more information on this contact Sue Nelms (01223 863657 option 3). You always retain control over this so you can vary the amount or stop the donation at any time.
Credit card - we are able to accept credit card donations. These can be made in person in the shop or as a 'customer not present' transaction. To do this please contact Sue Nelms (01223 863657 option 3). We will need certain information from you to enable us to process the transaction.
CAF - donations can be made direct to the community using your CAF card or you can donate via the Charities Aid Foundation website. We will need certain information from you to process a card donation. We are also happy to receive donations via CAF cheque.
e-Bay - if you like to sell items through e-Bay you can now register to donate a proportion of your proceeds to your chosen charity. For more information on how to do this or to register, please visit MissionFish.
If you are a UK tax payer and you would like your gift to go further, consider completing a Gift Aid declaration (Adobe/PDF, 19KB). Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, Emmaus Cambridge can claim an extra 28p from HM Revenue and Customs. If you pay higher rate tax you can add charitable donations to your tax return and reduce your liability by the value of your gift.
Emmaus Cambridge aims to acknowledge all donations where possible. We understand that some people wish to remain anonymous, but feel that if you have made a donation to us, however large or small, it is only right that we should take the time to acknowledge your contribution.
Finally, you might like to consider leaving a legacy to Emmaus Cambridge in your will to help us continue our work with homeless and marginalised people.
